What to EXPECT
WORSHIP & TEACHING
We are a Christian ministry, and Jesus is at the center of all we do. While HYC is fun- and academic-focused (e.g. not a Bible camp), our team will frequently hold services for campers with worship and teaching. We’ll attend church services Sunday morning.
CLASSES & WORKSHOPS
Campers will be able to enroll in classes of their choice, workshops, and hands-on experiences. Educational crash courses on topics such as computer programming, art, biology, robotics, history, and music theory.
ACTIVITIES
Each week and on the weekends, there will be fun activities for campers to get to know one another. From arts and crafts and group sports, to NYC outings and amusement park trips, campers will make lasting memories and experience what the New York area has to offer.
Our Community
Campers
Our campers are children of missionaries who've grown up around the world. They bring diverse perspectives—some passionate about missions, others planning different paths, and some feeling disillusioned by ministry life. At Homeward Youth Camp, campers connect with others who share their unique background. While parents must be rooted in Christian ministry, there's no faith requirement for campers. We help prepare each camper for their future, honoring what they've sacrificed for the kingdom.
Staff
Our staff are members of Alabaster Group who are working professionals or students pursuing graduate degrees at distinguished universities in the US. Most of our staff hold degrees in and work in the field which they will be teaching. Each of our staff has devoted their lives to living for Jesus, and our members staffing the camp all do so at their own expense and as a volunteer.
