WHAT IS HOMEWARD?

Homeward celebrates those fully devoted to fulfilling the Great Commission.

Homeward Missions Week (HMW) is a gathering of missionaries, evangelists, and their families. This event is dedicated to those sent by God to the poor or unreached, who have given their lives entirely to answering that call. Missions Week is an immersive experience with 8 days of sun, fun, food, friends, activities, and adventures onboard a luxurious Caribbean cruise - and, of course, day-and-night worship, praise, prayer, teaching, and networking.

Participation is by invitation only and complimentary to invited ministers and their families. If you qualify for an invitation, we would be delighted to hear from you.

FOR OUR RETURNING GUESTS

What’s NEW

Many things are changing - but Jesus is still our center. Moving to the seas has allowed us to reimagine Missions Week.

We are rebuilding Missions Week - iterating on what our guests have loved before while evolving certain aspects to better capture what Missions Week should be. Many changes are behind-the-scenes, but here’s what our guests are bound to notice:

  • Going Places - One thing many people love about cruising is the feeling that they’re constantly on the move. Our sailing takes us to 3 dynamic Caribbean islands, and we’ll enjoy the highlights at each of them. No 2 days will be the same. Even while laying down, we’ll be going places.

  • Intentional Connections - Many families come to Missions Week knowing almost no one else there - and in some cases, knowing no other missionaries of a similar lifestyle at all. We are implementing new ways to improve our guest experiences, for the brand new guest as well as the guest who comes every cycle. All guests will participate in highly intentional matched connections - 1-on-1 and 2-on-2 meetings with dozens of other guests to ensure that, within the first day, you’ll have connected with many other Missions Week guests.

  • Peer-to-Peer - There’s so much our guests learn from each other, so this year we’re making that a focus. We are trading some conference sessions for peer-to-peer discussions, where we talk about what you care about. Every guest will have the opportunity to submit questions to their peers, and we’ll benefit from your perspectives. Learn from those with decades more experience as well as those bringing a fresh eyes to old challenges. We will be implementing several different formats to stimulate engagement, from shared meals to group excursions to freeform chats and even full plenary sessions devoted to peer discussions.

Reflections on Homeward Past

Homeward was a time for most needed refreshing time with God! It was a time where we could feel God's love for our family in every little detail! We saw God's love in every smile, in every meeting, in every meal, in every friend that we were able to see again after many years!

A.V., Mozambique

I felt so deeply touched by the Lord during times of worship. I still don't fully understand what happened, but after my return, I have began to notice a boldness and courage to a level I never had before; there seems to be a new grace of boldness and courage, to face difficult situations that seemed unapproachable before, with peace and joy.

C.A., Uganda

It was overwhelming as a whole in the best possible way. Body, soul and spirit was ministered to and we all feel refreshed and encouraged to do what we do. It was a time of new vision for us and rubbing shoulders with brave missionaries from all over the world was extremely encouraging. We are forever grateful and you gave us a life changing experience and memories.

H.K., South Africa

We were just touched by all of the kingdom connections with other missionaries. We were able to connect and relate to people who understood us. This was therapeutic in and of itself. We also appreciated how everything was structured for us as young parents with small children to both participate and receive.

M.C., Mexico

We were eating from crumbs and God gave us a banquet. He affirmed us on who we were in Him and as His children. We came back with a new perspective, stronger on our faith and looking for a bright future on our ministry.

C.K., Brazil

A few times during worship, I was so moved to tears because I had all the time to realize and express my heart to Jesus. My children loved every minute of the children's service... It was such a blessing to know they were having fun and learning about God while we were also enjoying God’s presence in the services.
